Wednesday, June 8th - St Petersburg

Paul had a meeting in St Petersburg so we decided we'd tag along as his navigation assistants : )
St Petersburgh is my favourite place so far....absolutely incredible city. Pretty, colourful, crammed with culture, good restaurants and really friendly people. Visually, it's very influenced by the French. Foodwise, the Italians. Paul was in meetings til the late afternoon but we still had time to visit the Salvador Dali museum after picking him up.

I was never a fan of Dali and although we were more impressed than we imagined we'd be, I'm still not a huge fan. His work is interesting but for me it tries a little too hard. Putting that to one side, the kids LOVED it!!! Paul was intrigued and I fell in love with the building : )
The concrete stairs was like a ribbon curling through the building.

They provide guided headset tours for the kids and the commentary was hilarious. Kept them laughing and giggling while we had a chance to listen to the adult tour guide. They had to complete a quizz at the end on what they had seen and heard and got to pick a prize if they were correct. All the kids were correct...really cute! They also had a chance to make their own moustaches - Dali style!

There was a small maze in the grounds which they loved and we headed down to the pier to a fantastic playground afterwards.
